What is ShineQuo and is it right for my child?

Is ShineQuo safe for my student to use?
Yes. We enforce rigorous safety filters, verify all coach and mentor backgrounds, and maintain actively moderated community rules to protect your student’s digital safety. Will I be able to see what my student talks about in coaching?
No. To foster authentic vulnerability and self-accountability, all 1-on-1 interactions remain strictly private and confidential between the student and their coach.
How much does ShineQuo cost for parents to pay for?
Parents can purchase an individual subscription for their student starting at $50/month or 4-month, 6-month plans, unless fully funded by their university’s campus agreement. For more details on pricing, visit our Pricing Page.
Is ShineQuo covered by my college's student fees?
It depends. Please contact the Student Affairs team at your student's college to confirm if they have partnered with us and what is being covered. Alternatively, your student can create a free account using school email address and check the status on Dashboard or Credits page.
What's the difference between ShineQuo and therapy/counseling for my child?
ShineQuo provides non-clinical coaching targeting future goals, lifestyle execution, and daily resilience, whereas therapy diagnoses and treats clinical psychiatric illnesses. Read our blog for more understanding on the differences.
Is coaching confidential? Can parents see sessions?
Yes, coaching is entirely confidential. To preserve student privacy and trust, parents cannot access session contents, milestone trackings, or chat logs.
What if my student is showing signs of a real mental health crisis - does ShineQuo handle that?
No, ShineQuo is non-clinical. If a student exhibits crisis triggers, our system instantly triggers immediate escalation protocols to direct them to campus emergency or clinical services as well as share regional/nation-wide resources and support.
How do I know if ShineQuo coaches are qualified to help my child?
ShineQuo coaches hold rigorous International Coaching Federation (ICF) credentials and all coaches and mentors passes comprehensive identity, and professional screening. The average years of experience for our coaches and mentors is 15 years.
Can I monitor my student's progress or usage?
To respect student autonomy and foster independent life skills, parents do not receive individual usage reports, activity scores, or personal milestone reviews.
Is ShineQuo a good fit for first-generation, international, or neurodivergent students?
Yes - absolutely. ShineQuo features highly specialized pathways and multilingual coaches specifically expert at helping first-gen, international, out-of-state and neurodivergent students build executive functions and navigate culture and environmental adjustments.
What if my child's college already offers counseling - why would they also need ShineQuo?
ShineQuo is a complement, not a replacement. Majority of our users are not in clinical crisis but using ShineQuo before everyday stressors escalate into clinical needs. However research indicates that using coaching and counseling together drives far better student outcomes, offering a complete support system that handles both clinical mental health and building systems for real-world readiness.
