Role Overview:

We are looking for a UI/UX Designer Intern who combines a passion for student-centered design with a product management mindset. You’ll work closely with the founder and development team to structure a mobile-first, accessible interface that supports a seamless student and coach experience.

This role is perfect for someone who’s excited about impact-driven design and wants to take ownership of designing scalable user experiences that improve student well-being.

Responsibilities:

  • Design & Prototyping
-Create wireframes, mockups, and clickable prototypes using Figma and Miro.
-Design responsive and accessible UIs, with mobile-first thinking and WCAG standards in mind.
-Build intuitive user flows for dashboards, onboarding, peer support walls, and interactive coaching journeys.

  • Product Thinking & Feature Planning
-Map user journeys, define user personas, and conduct basic UX research.
-Break ideas into user stories and collaborate with dev team using tools like Jira or Notion.
-Support feature prioritization using frameworks (e.g. MoSCoW, Impact–Effort matrix).
-Explore how AI integrations can improve personalization and engagement.

  • Interaction Design & Metrics
-Design micro-interactions and action flows (e.g., booking a session, giving feedback).
-Help define success metrics, trackable actions, and interface behavior to improve user engagement.
-Learn and suggest tools for click tracking, session heatmaps, and data-informed improvements.

  • Collaboration & Accessibility
-Partner with tech, content, and marketing teams to keep UX aligned with real user needs.
-Ensure all designs meet web accessibility and mobile responsiveness standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using Figma (must-have) and tools like Miro, Jira, or Excel.

  • Understanding of Material UI, mobile-first design, and responsive frameworks.

  • Familiar with WCAG accessibility guidelines and inclusive design best practices.

  • Comfortable working with dev teams and breaking down complex design ideas.

  • Ability to think strategically and balance user needs with business goals.

  • Familiarity with design systems, prototyping tools, and mobile design best practices.

  • Interest in or experience with product workflows: user stories, metrics, feature roadmapping.

  • Strong communication and self-management skills.

  • Bonus if you’ve taken courses or done side projects involving design systems, usability testing, or education/wellness domains.
