About Us:
ShineQuo is a youth wellness focused startup that partners with colleges to provide students with proactive mental fitness coaching. We help students navigate stress, build resilience, and achieve success through action-oriented personalized coaching, digital resources, and community support.
As we expand our college partnerships, we are seeking a Legal Intern to assist with drafting and reviewing contracts, ensuring compliance with higher education regulations, and supporting agreements with colleges and institutional partners.
Role Overview:
This internship is ideal for law students who are interested in higher education law, contracts, and compliance. The intern will work closely with the ShineQuo leadership team to draft, review, and refine agreements that facilitate partnerships with colleges and universities.
Responsibilities-
Contract Drafting & Review
Draft and refine Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs), Letters of Intent (LOIs), and partnership agreements for pilot programs with colleges.
Assist in structuring agreements for paid college partnerships, ensuring legal clarity in terms of services, compliance, and liability.
Develop standard coaching service agreements for use with higher-ed institutions.
Higher Education Compliance & Policy Support
Research federal and state education regulations (FERPA, HIPAA, Title IX, ADA, etc.) to ensure ShineQuo’s services comply with student privacy and data protection laws.
Assist in drafting terms and conditions for ShineQuo’s coaching platform to align with higher education legal frameworks.
Work on internal compliance documentation and help structure policies for long-term contractual engagements.
Negotiation & Institutional Support
Support contract negotiations with college legal teams and administrative departments.
Identify key legal considerations that higher education institutions require in vendor agreements.
Collaborate with ShineQuo’s business team to ensure contracts align with the financial and operational structure of college partnerships.
What We’re Looking For-
Current law student with an interest in contract law, higher education law, or business law.
Strong legal writing and contract drafting skills.
Familiarity with compliance laws affecting higher education (FERPA, HIPAA, ADA, Title IX preferred but not required).
Ability to research legal requirements and propose solutions for contract structures.
Interest in startups, ed-tech, and mission-driven organizations.
Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment.
